Canal & Waterfront Experience · CFC 1433130400 miles of canals, slab-built homes, and salt air working on everything metal. Cape Coral plumbing has its own failure patterns, and we have been working on them since 1980. Residential, waterfront and commercial.
United Plumbing provides licensed residential and commercial plumbing throughout Cape Coral, Florida, and has done so since 1980 under license CFC 1433130. Services include 24-hour emergency plumbing, drain and sewer work, water heater installation, water line replacement, whole-house repiping, leak detection, water treatment, dock plumbing and complete plumbing upgrades, all completed to Florida code and Lee County requirements.
Cape Coral is one of Florida's largest waterfront communities, defined by its extensive canal system, slab-built homes, and rapid residential development. Properties here need plumbing built to withstand coastal humidity, mineral-heavy water, aging drain infrastructure in established neighborhoods, and heavy demand in newer construction.
We work for homeowners, waterfront properties, commercial facilities and multi-unit developments across the city.
Local Conditions
The canal network and the way the city was built create failure patterns you do not see inland.
Waterfront properties corrode faster. Exposed fittings, hose bibs and dock water lines need marine-grade materials, because standard outdoor plumbing does not last on a canal.
Cape Coral is almost entirely slab built, so a failing supply line leaks underneath the floor with no visible sign until the bill jumps or the floor turns warm. Leak detection finds it without opening the slab to look.
A great deal of Cape Coral went up during the polybutylene era. If your home dates from then, the supply lines are worth identifying before they fail. See Poly-B replacement.
Hard water builds scale in pipes, fixtures and water heaters across the whole city, shortening equipment life well before its rated years. Treatment at the point of entry protects everything downstream.

Waterfront Work
A canal home is not just a home with a nicer view. Salt air corrodes exposed fittings, dock runs sit in constant UV, and pressure at the end of a long supply run behaves differently from pressure at the meter.
United installs and repairs dock water lines using corrosion-resistant materials selected for that exposure, with isolation valves so the run can be shut down and drained ahead of a storm.
That last detail matters more in Cape Coral than almost anywhere else we work. An accessible shutoff at the dock is the difference between preparing for a storm in ten minutes and leaving pressurized line exposed to surge.
Neither appears in a standard home inspection. First, whether the supply lines are polybutylene, which is common in homes built through the 1980s and mid 1990s and carries insurance implications here. Second, the condition of the sewer line, which a camera inspection settles in one visit. Either finding is a negotiating position rather than a surprise after closing.
Residential work covers single-family homes across all four quadrants, canal and waterfront properties, and the newer master-planned communities. Commercial work covers restaurants, retail plazas along Del Prado and Pine Island Road, medical and professional offices, multi-family housing and property management portfolios.
Burst pipes, sewer backups, water heater failures and total water loss are answered around the clock, including nights, weekends and holidays. With more than 25 vehicles across Lee, Collier and Charlotte counties, Cape Coral is well covered. See 24-hour emergency plumbing for what to do before we arrive.

Common Questions
Yes, and it is a significant part of what we do here. That includes dock water lines, corroded exposed fittings, isolation valves for storm prep, and pressure problems at the end of long supply runs.
It is worth identifying what you have. A lot of Cape Coral was built during the polybutylene era, and Poly-B has a known failure history plus insurance implications in Florida. See polybutylene replacement.
Because nearly every home in Cape Coral is slab built, so any supply line failure happens under the floor rather than in a wall or crawlspace. The water escapes into the soil supporting the slab, which is why finding it early matters more than the volume lost.

Southwest Florida water is mineral heavy, which is why scale on fixtures and early water heater failure are so common here. Hardness varies by source, so it is measured rather than assumed before sizing a softener.
Yes. Permitting and inspection scheduling are coordinated for jobs that require them, including sewer replacement, repiping and new construction, in compliance with Florida code and local requirements.
